Research Associate II

Organization:
Broad Institute
Job Location:
Cambridge,MA
Job Description:

Our team aims to understand the pathogenesis of Crohn’s Disease in order to accelerate treatment of this disease. We are using a combination of physiologically relevant cell-based assays, novel mouse models based on genetic variants identified in Crohn’s patients, patient samples, and computational analyses to understand disease pathophysiology. Human genetics and pathways uncovered in the first part of our project will yield hypotheses about candidate targets and pathways for therapeutic intervention.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of immunologists, molecular biologists, clinicians, chemical biologists, and computational biologists. This position provides a great learning environment for scientists who want to gain expertise in understanding autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. The successful candidate will work both in independent and in team projects.

- Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or related field (cell biology, molecular biology, immunology)
- At least two years of experience in a research laboratory, preferably working on an independent project
- Knowledge of mouse genetics and molecular biology techniques including PCR and Southern blotting is preferred

The Broad Institute will not offer visa sponsorship for this opportunity.
