Strategic Account Manager

Job Description: 

•Meet/Exceed territory budget goals in all monitored categories.
•Efficiently manage territory and maintain account records in CRM on a regular basis.
•Accurately forecast sales on a monthly and quarterly basis and maintain pipeline on a 12 month rolling basis
•Work with Marketing Department and Application Specialist in an efficient and productive manner
•Provide necessary reports to the management team as required
•Increase sales of QIAGEN products by optimizing utilization of sales programs and support structure, MBO achievement, meeting quarterly focus objectives.
•Implement corporate strategy in defined accounts.
•Negotiate contracts and execute pricing strategy to maintain existing business and develop new business.
•Develop and implement tactical and strategic business plans. Supports product sales specialists and actively participates in all sales promotions and launches.
•Through consultative selling, enhance customer satisfaction and increase our competitive advantage while building trust and relationships with customers.
•Assume key advocate position with all departments within QIAGEN in representation of accounts.
•Be accountable for time and territory management, accurate forecasting, development and implementation of business plan, and achievement of objectives, key performance indictors and revenue forecasts.
•Recognize market trends and gain competitive intelligence within territory. Communicate market information through business teams, CRM market feedback, and/or other approved channels.
•Drive and initiate development of new business opportunities in defined area. Drive and initiate development of reference accounts.
•Increase number of strategic partnerships for all product lines. Represent QIAGEN at trade shows and seminars.
•Daily update to CRM database to input and provide information on all accounts and opportunities.
•Make sound business decisions based on relevant information; take calculated risks as necessary to achieve business objectives.

Requirements: 

•Education level minimum of Bachelor of Science or equivalent
•3-5 years of successful track record in Instrument Sales in the diagnostic labs.
•Wide range of knowledge of diagnostic molecular biology applications and products.
•Knowledge of Molecular techniques/options in the Diagnostic Lab and its impact on patient diagnosis.
•Proven ability to sell to Laboratory Directors, Medical Directors, and Finance
•Established contacts with the Decision Makers in the diagnostic laboratories, especially with KOL’s in the MDX field.
•Self motivated with the ability to work independently while under guidance from manager
•Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills for all business levels
•Effective presentation skills
•Willingness to travel up to 75% and valid driving license required
•Ability to travel with 2 over nights per week
