Job Description: 

The Pancreatic Cancer Research Lab at TGen aims to develop novel targeted therapies for patients with advanced pancreatic cancer. We employ genomic and biochemical approaches including whole genome sequencing and tissue array immunohistochemistry to identify alterations responsible for driving the progression and/or chemoresistance of pancreatic cancer. Promising alterations are further validated for drug targeting and candidate therapies are then developed and tested in cell line and animal models. By closely working with clinicians at TGen's Clinical Service, we seek to rapidly translate laboratory findings to the clinic. Promising therapies are promptly evaluated in pilot clinical trials. Conversely, hypotheses generated by clinicians based on clinical observations are readily tested in the laboratory.

Ensures the design, development, execution, and implementation of scientific research and/or development in collaboration with a research team.

•Works under general direction while initiating, performing or conducting research experiments.
•Integrates and implements experimental design. Performs data analysis and prepares reports.
•Writes manuscripts for publications. Assists in writing proposals.
•Mentors junior level team members.
•Coordinates with other research groups and institutions on collaborative studies on new drug development for cancer.

Requirements: 

Job Qualification:
Doctoral degree in Molecular Biology or related field. Previous research experience or training in the fields of cancer biology or equivalent area; previous experience in cancer animal models is preferred and; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
