The Research Scientist will be responsible, for the design and execution of experiments for the development of current and future diagnostic assays/instrumentation. This includes lab work, data analysis, and assay design. In addition he/she will be responsible for generating ideas pertaining to future assays and technology.
Job performance will involve a variety of activities including:
Experimental design and execution
Meeting deadlines and driving projects forward
Interpret scientific results and provide recommendation for moving forward
Idea generation to improve existing technology and drive future technology
Additional duties as assigned
5+ years of laboratory experience
Experience with DNA and RNA quantification and purification methods, cDNA synthesis, PCR, qPCR and multi-well assays
Candidate should understand the scientific method, experimental design and the importance of controls. Candidates must also understand the fundamental of high throughput sequencing technologies
Understanding of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and statistics is a plus
1+ years in an industry setting (Preferred)
BS/MS in biochemistry or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
