The web-savvy Temp Scientific Web Content Editor is responsible for the successful development and delivery of online scientific / technical content for the Life Science Group’s product range. Use your technical scientific writing skills to create, review & quality control (QC) web content for a new scientific product website. The successful candidate will be self-directed and comfortable creating & reviewing biological product web content ensuring consistency, style, and readability. S/he will collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate and “digestible” but also meets established corporate style guides for language & format and optimize for SEO. (Note: This is a TEMP position).
•Assist in effort to determine data standards for online scientific / technical content
•Assist data cleansing effort to:
◦Align online content with standards determined for scientific / technical content
◦Optimize online content for SEO
•Create scientific / technical content to address current gaps in online content
•Assist in market research to gather VOC for development of data standards to support the online content strategy
•Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams and subject matter experts (Corporate IT, E-business, Division Marketing, Regional Sales & Marketing) to ensure alignment with online content strategy
•Develop & track metrics to determine the impact of online content strategy
•BS/BA in Life Science required (Recent Ph.D. in Molecular Biology desired)
•Experience writing and reviewing scientific or technical content
◦Understanding / experience of life science technologies including instruments, reagents / consumables and biological products
◦Working knowledge / familiarity with the following:
◾Adobe Creative Suite
◾MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
•Strong written / oral communication and presentation skills: ◦Able to communicate ideas with senior personnel
◦Able to network with subject matter experts
◦Able to respond to content contributor feedback
◦Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and project management skills
◦Strict attention to details such as punctuation, scientific units, and wording/lexical errors
◦Ability to adhere to operating procedures, work independently, and follow directions.
