Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) is seeking a Director for the Clinical Immunogenetics Laboratory (CIL) to support our hematopoietic stem cell transplant program. The SCCA is affiliated with Seattle's pioneering Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, the University of Washington Medical Center and Seattle Children's Hospital. The laboratory performs pre-transplant HLA typing, antibody screening and post-transplant engraftment studies.
The CIL Director is responsible for providing scientific direction and leadership for the laboratory, quality assurance, technical improvement, the introduction of new technologies, and for assisting the institution in maintaining compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
The ideal candidate will have superior skills in leadership, communication, and strategic thinking, a strong ethical foundation, and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clinicians, and researchers.
Doctoral Degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological or Clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution or a Doctor of Medicine licensed to practice in the state of Washington.
Certified or eligible for certification by the ABHI.
- At least 2 years of full-time post-doctoral experience in an ASHI accredited Director's training program or 3 years full-time post-doctoral experience in directing or supervising high-complexity testing in an ASHI accredited laboratory.
