Job Description: 

We have an immediate opening for a postdoctoral researcher for the development of next generation genome sequencing technology. The postdoc will be responsible for experimental research in the field of nanopore based whole genome sequencing and other sensor based healthcare applications. Responsibilities include nanopore fabrication, DNA translocation detection, studying ionic transport in nanopores, design and build data acquisition systems for sequencing, develop and set up experimental protocols and publish results in peer reviewed Journals.

  • Doctorate in Physics, Biophysics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or other related fields
  • A strong background in nanopore fabrication and characterization, micro/nano fluidics and surface chemistry
  • Hands on experience with patch-clamp techniques and nanopore transport measurements
  • Strong background in design and building of data acquisition instrumentation
  • Experience in nano scale semiconductor fabrication and characterization techniques is desired
  • Experience in using LabView, C++, Visual Basic or other object oriented language is strongly preferred
  • Cross disciplinary experience is a plus, but not required
  • A strong record of outstanding research and publication history is expected
