Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, home of three Nobel laureates, is an independent, nonprofit research institution dedicated to the development and advancement of biomedical research to eliminate cancer and other potentially fatal diseases. The fellow will involve in both methodology development as well as the analysis of cutting-edge genomic data, such as next-generation sequencing data, metabolomics data, and genome-wide methylation data. Many challenges exist for analyzing these new types of data, providing exciting opportunities for the development of novel statistical methods. In addition, the data are directly collected from forefront cancer-research projects at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, ensuring high impact of the research to be conducted. The fellow will also have the opportunities to interact with leading experts in biomedical science, and to establish a broad research network for future career.
PhD in statistics/biostatistics. Solid training in both statistical theory and applications. Experience with high-dimensional statistical analysis is desired but not required. Demonstrated proficiency in statistical programming language. Good oral and written communication skills.
