Job Description: 

Good Start Genetics, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate who wants the opportunity to work closely with cutting-edge genetic technologies and high-throughput robotics.

• Develop expertise in a variety of cutting-edge molecular biology techniques

The right candidate will serve as a pivotal team member who will work on research and development projects that are critical to the organization’s growth; he or she will work as part of cross-functional teams composed of bioinformatics, genomics, and molecular diagnostics experts.

Requirements: 

Technical capability expected:
• Experience working with challenging sample types, including DNA that is of low molecular mass, low quantity, and/or damaged.
• 2+ years of experience with genomic and molecular biology techniques, preferably including next-generation sequencing and library preparation.
• Education and relevant experience in a quantitative field (for example, biology, chemistry, physics, or engineering).
• Experience using and programming laboratory automation strongly desired.
• Ability to program in a scripting language and to statistically analyze large-scale data sets strongly desired.
• Desire to work as part of a small, inter-disciplinary, and collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
• Solid communications skills – both written and oral
