Job Description: 

The Quality Control Lab Technician will be working in the Quality Control department to support product and stability testing. The QC Lab Technician maintains all aspects of laboratory equipment and inventory levels to support the QC Analysts. In addition, the QC Lab Technician is responsible for maintaining the reference material system for parts used in product testing. The QC Lab Technician will also participate in the set-up of stability studies. All processes must be performed in accordance to GMP standards and FDA/ISO regulations. The successful candidate will have experience working in a laboratory environment interacting with internal customers as well as external vendors. The candidate must have strong time management and organizational skills with ability to multitask and adapt to changes and urgent needs.

This position is contract with an estimated duration of 6 months.

- Organize, restock, and maintain laboratories supplies
- Order, restock, and maintain reagents for QC product testing
- Process QC equipment for maintenance and calibration
- Track, Trend, and Resolve all errors, repair, and Equipment Out of Calibration Notification (EOCN) issues for QC equipment and/or lab computers
- Maintain waste collection area; process chemical and hazardous waste for collection
- Inventory, maintain, restock, approve requests, and issue materials from the reference system to internal customers
- Perform weekly back-up and shut down of instruments and lab computers
- Process documentation for work orders or incoming raw materials requiring labeling and/or physical inspection
- Coordinate with range of internal groups to distribute stability study samples into test chambers
- Generate stability study worksheets for data trending
- Organize and maintain stability chamber storage
- Assist in stability data review
- Assist in aliquoting and labeling work for reference material production as needed
- Generate, Execute, and Summarize IOQ protocol for new or modified QC temperature chambers as needed
- Assist with special QC projects as assigned ore requested

- Minimum 1 year experience in biotechnology or related industry
- Associate Degree in a Life Science or Science major
- Experience in the use and handling of basic lab equipment (pipette, centrifuge, pH meter, BioSafety Cabinet, fume hoods, vortex)
- Experience working in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) laboratory.
- Experience in handling biological and chemical materials and familiarity with material safety data sheet (MSDS) is desirable
- Ability to multi-task with strong time management skills
- Ability to adapt to changes/requests in a fast paced environment
- Must have excellent organization and attention to details skills
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work with minimal supervision and have a proactive approach
- Basic proficiency in the use of Word and Excel applications
