Job Description: 

The Clinical Trial Budget Specialist will lead the Institution's efforts to standardize the budgeting process within the Consortium, by developing guidelines, tools and best practices. The position will prepare budgets for industry sponsored and investigator initiated clinical trials. The Specialist will report to the CRS Clinical Research Implementation Manager.

- Represents the Consortium clinical research budgeting process to other institutions and clinic partners
- Collaborates with Consortium members, clinic partners and leadership to establish budget standards and best practices
- Gathers and maintains budget data; determines budget standards based on data
- Stays current with budgeting trends in clinical research; makes recommendations to leadership
- Participates in budget related process improvement efforts on behalf of the Consortium including implementation of technology solutions
- Serves as subject matter expert and trains Consortium administrative staff on budgeting
- Assists with and performs budget negotiations with industry sponsors
- Prepares pricing requests for multiple clinic sites; ensures study logistics are communicated with sites of practice to obtain accurate pricing
- Develops tools to track budget milestones
- Defines and provides metrics to study teams and management
- Works closely with study teams to define personnel resources and other budget requirements
- Assists in the development of policies and procedures to support the Consortium budgeting process
- Collaborates with CRS study implementation team to communicate and meet start-up timelines

Experience and Abilities
- 3 years preparing clinical trial budgets, preferably industry-sponsored clinical trials
- Implementing and managing clinical research studies
- Working across large organizations to collaborate on projects

Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor's degree
- Clinical research related certification preferred
- Excellent understanding of clinical research staffing and logistics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Excel
