This position works directly with Senior Epidemiologists within the Mortality Surveillance Division of the AFMES through an American Registry of Pathology Federal contract.
The work requires the ability to manage multiple competing tasks and demands.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Activities include the following but are not limited to:
1. Provide contract support for updating the DoD-MMR data infrastructure and providing data and
analysis support for the Department of Defense. These positions require experience in :
a. Public health surveillance and reporting activities
b. Data analysis and database management
c. Programming (R, SAS, or SQL)
d. Complex and non-routine data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
Other responsibilities include:
Producing descriptive analyses
Participating in analytic epidemiologic studies
Conducting mortality surveillance
Upgrading data infrastructure.
1. Master’s degree (two year degree preferred) with a focus in epidemiology, biostatistics, or
2. Minimum introductory and intermediate course work in epidemiology methods and bio-statistics.
2 years research experience preferred in large patient study/research
