Maintenance Technician I-II (Process), multiple shifts

Job Description:

The position will involve start-up, normal operation, monitoring and shutdown of utility systems and equipment; troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and repair work of all facilities systems. Performs assigned mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or utility related work tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Knowledge and ability to operate, analyze problems, and repair process PLC controllers;
- Experience with instrument calibration;
- Working knowledge and repair experience with pneumatic and electronic controls & systems;
- Electrical background and the ability to work with low and medium voltages;
- Follows current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs).
- Maintains training records.

Knowledge and Specialized Skills:
- Solid working knowledge of process controls, VFD drives, and pumps;
- Working knowledge of functional area discipline (calibration, process equipment) and automated control systems;
- Strong written and documentation skills;
- Ability to read and understand process & instrument drawings;
- Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database management software;
- Good communication skills.

Education and Experience:
Requires AAS in Engineering, Construction, or Maintenance technologies with 2+ years of experience in a similar position. May substitute additional relevant experience in lieu of degree.

Must be available to work various shifts. Shift start/end times subject to change, flexibility to work additional shifts strongly preferred including:
2nd Shift (4pm - 12:30 am)
3rd Shift (12 am - 8:30 am)
4th & 5th Shift (Thurs - Sun, 10 hr days or nights)

Hand tools, test instrumentation, and electric power tools; Solid computer skills and general office equipment experience required.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and frequently may be loud. The employee is regularly exposed to the risk of electrical shock, work near moving mechanical parts, and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to cold/heat (non-outdoor) and elevated heights. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
