Collaborate with several Principle Investigators within the Division of Molecular Medicine, Institute of Basic Biomedical Sciences, Brain Science Institute, and with other Schools within Johns Hopkins. Collaboration includes but is not limited to the development, inventing, testing, standardizing, and publishing of technological methods. Manages ongoing research projects and oversees the activities for the Epigenetic Core Laboratory, supervises the research specialists and oversees laboratory personnel as well as involvement in laboratory resources and maintenance. Establishes laboratory standards and consults with outside experts to ensure qualifications and accurate performance of tests and reporting.
Master’s degree in related science and six years related experience required. A PhD degree preferred. Experience required in microarray and sequencing. Epigenetic experience preferred.
Microarray Experience in the following areas preferred:
Roche Nimblegen Microarray Platform (specifically CHARM protocol)
Next Generation Sequencing experience in the following areas preferred:
Illumina HiSeq 2000
Whole Genome Bisulfite Sequencing
High-throughput service center experience required
Proven technical knowledge and lab experience.
Strong background in molecular biology and / or genetic medicine
Polymerase chain reaction
