The Department of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine is seeking a bioinformatician to perform genomic and metagenomic data analysis and interpretation. Working with multiple researchers and laboratories, the candidate will participate in experimental design on high throughput sequencing platforms, in addition to employing genomic and statistical tools for the analysis of sequencing datasets. The candidate will be involved in database development to manage large repositories of sequence data. The individual will perform basic analyses on different types of sequence datasets (i.e. 16S ribosomal RNA, ChIP-seq, RNA-seq) and also more complex analyses that integrate clinical and phenotypic data. The individual will also assist in writing manuscripts and grants, with a focus on technical and methodological aspects.
Minimum of a Master's degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Position contingent upon funding.
