Job Description: 

We are a small biopharmaceutical company located in San Diego, CA in the Torrey Pines area. Our exciting product is entering late phase clinical trials. We are looking for a hands-on bench associate to join our Analytical Development and QC lab.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities are as the following:
•Perform routine HPLC analysis to support lot release and stability programs for a novel protein therapeutic.
•Use HPLC methods to characterize protein impurities and degradation products under direction of the team leader.
•Develop and optimize analytical methods.
•Validate analytical methods (e.g., RP-HPLC, SE-HPLC; CEX-HPLC; SDS-PAGE; and Western blot methods).
•Maintain and troubleshoot sophisticated laboratory instrumentation and supply inventory.
•Conduct investigative actions supporting manufacturing under direction of the team leader and document with formal development reports.
•Identify and resolve analytical, validation and scheduling issues.
•Compile, organize and analyze raw data and present summarized data in development meetings and reports.
•Perform peer review of laboratory data generated by co-workers.

Requirements: 

•BA/BS in scientific discipline with 2+ years industry experience in protein analysis / characterization.
•Significant knowledge in the field of protein chemistry, enzyme assay, and analytical biochemistry.
•Significant experience in HPLC operation and troubleshooting is absolutely required. Advanced computer knowledge is a plus.
•Knowledge of GLP and GMP regulations and ICH guidance.
•Strong interpersonal/communication skills.
•Superb attention to detail.
•Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Excellent organizational skills and ability to adhere to timelines.
•Competent computer skills with the following programs: MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
