Nature Reviews Genetics has a vacancy for a Locum Associate Editor for an initial six month position.
This exciting position involves working closely with the editorial team on all aspects of the editorial process, including commissioning and editing reviews, organizing peer-review, writing short articles, and developing the content of the journal, both in print and online.
To meet these challenging tasks, the ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of genetics and hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant field. Other important attributes include excellent written and verbal communication skills, good attention to detail and highly developed time-management skills.
An important aspect of the job is liaising with the scientific community and attending international conferences, so the successful candidate must be prepared to travel and should have good interpersonal skills.
The position will be based in the London office of Nature Publishing Group, and the terms and conditions are competitive, reflecting the importance and responsibilities of the role.
Previous editorial experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.
