The EBI is now seeking to recruit an outstanding individual to the post of:
Head of Technical Services
The role calls for exceptional technical and leadership skills, and the drive and enthusiasm to shape the delivery of services to many thousands of demanding users worldwide, who are looking to explore biological data in innovative ways.
Reporting to the Directors, you will set the technical direction of the EBI and play a key role in the Senior Management Committee.
You will have the expertise to identify relevant emerging technologies and deploy them to the best effect. You will need to be an excellent communicator, able to convey complex challenges and solutions effectively to colleagues at all levels of the organisation, and international partners and collaborators.
Drawing on your experience as a successful technical leader, you will work closely with the Head of Systems and Team Leaders of Web Production and Web Development who report to this role, to develop a thorough understanding of user requirements, deploy resources and align the teams' efforts to bring the greatest benefit to external and internal users.
