We are looking for an enthusiastic Bioinformatician (Computational Proteomics) to join the Proteomics Team at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) located on the Wellcome Trust Genome Campus in the UK.
Mass spectrometry-based proteomics is an exciting, rapidly developing field. The Bioinformatician, who will be a biologist or biochemist with strong programming skills, or a software engineer with a strong life science background, will contribute to the maintenance and development of the PRIDE database.
The responsibilities of the Bioinformatician include the integration and analysis of MS-based proteomics data using high-throughput methods and development of new analysis and annotation tools. In addition to these activities, the Bioinformatician may contribute to the development of the group's external services and develop internal and external software specifications.
