ProteinSimple is looking for an enthusiastic life science product manager to champion its state of the art Simple Western product line. The primary responsibilities will be the implementation and execution of the commercial marketing strategy for all current Simple Western commercial products and those in development.
•Serve as the marketing champion in core teams for all new Simple Western product development projects and be the lead marketing representative driving product launches
•Work closely with key customers and customer groups to define new product requirements
•Represent the voice of the customer inside the organization and make recommendations for new features or improved solutions for the product line
•Work closely with the Marcomm team to develop and implement marketing programs to generate new sales leads
•Gather competitive intelligence to maintain an understanding of the competitive landscape to inform strategic and tactical product plans
•Develop and manage product line-specific content such as sales tools, collateral materials, scientific publications, trade exhibits, and web site content
•Liaise with sales as a technical advisor for supported products and provide marketing and/or technical support at conventions user's meetings, workshops, and other specific marketing functions
•Provide technical and sales training as needed
•BS degree in life science discipline; advanced degrees preferred
•Prior laboratory experience required, preferably with protein characterization technologies
•2-5 years of experience in product management or product marketing
•Proven ability to succeed within a multi-functional team environment (e.g. engineering, sales, technical support)
•Ability to plan and organize effectively, set priorities, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
•Solid writing, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills as demonstrated through marketing plans, product specifications, application notes, product launch collateral and sales material.
•Self-motivation and a positive attitude
•San Francisco Bay Area preferred, but will consider all qualified candidates
•This position requires approximately 15-20% domestic and international travel.
