ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR or PROFESSOR – Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences
The College of Pharmacy, Washington State University (WSU) on Riverpoint campus in Spokane, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor or Professor (commensurate with experience) in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active, extramurally-funded research program in the general area of drug discovery, drug delivery and novel targets, to mentor graduate students and fellows, and to teach in the professional and graduate curricula in topic areas related to Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Applicants must have an advanced degree (M.D., PharmD., or Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline) before start of employment. The Assistant Professor candidate must possess a track record of accomplishment to demonstrate the potential to become an outstanding scholar and educator. Associate Professor candidates must possess the a track record of accomplishment demonstrating he/she as an outstanding scholar and educator with an active, nationally recognized, extramurally funded, research program. The Professor candidate must possess the a track record of accomplishment demonstrating he/she is an outstanding scholar and educator with an active, internationally recognized, extramurally funded, research program. Preference will be given to applicants who have a demonstrated ability to teach pharmacology and /or pharmacogenetics at the graduate level.

The College of Pharmacy currently is co-located on WSU’s main campus in Pullman and its Health Sciences campus in Spokane, and plans to consolidate in Spokane by early 2014. The College’s intent is to substantially build its research and graduate education capacity across its four academic units: Pharmaceutical Sciences, Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy, and Nutrition/Exercise Physiology. Areas of special interest include pharmacogenetics and genomics, medicinal chemistry and drug discovery, quantitative methods, and the interface between nutrition and drug therapy.
