We are seeking a talented research associate to join our pain research group. The individual should have a background in performing complex behavioral assays with rodents. The successful candidate will be involved in basic research studies designed to identify novel targets in the fields of pain and inflammation. Candidates will need to be highly organized, flexible and motivated.
This candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary group to perform a range of behavioral neuroscience experiments, including:
- behavioral testing (primarily pain assays)
- tissue dissections
- rodent surgery
- dosing of compounds/blood draws
In addition, previous experience performing ELISA assays or cell culturing is preferred. The candidate will use computer programs such as Excel and Prism to analyze data. The candidate will be responsible for the reporting of results in internal meetings and a high revel of presentation skills is desired.
This position requires a a B.S/M.S degree, and 0-1 years of experience. If you are a recent graduate, you must have prior research experience working with rodents.
Additional requirements include:
- Rodent handling and performing behavioral assays (prefer experience with pain assays)
- In vitro techniques (ELISA, western blot, cell culture, quantitative PCR) are a plus
- Must have a working knowledge of experimental design and statistical analysis
Level will be commensurate with experience.
