A full-time postdoctoral position is available for a PhD with experience in Bioinformatics (next-generation sequencing) in the Fullwood Lab. The focus of the lab is on understanding human transcriptomes and transcriptome regulation, particularly in the context of gastric cancer ((http://www.csi.nus.edu.sg/wp/the-team/csi-special-fellows/melissa-jane-f...). We are seeking highly motivated Ph.D. graduates with backgrounds in computer science, statistics, bioinformatics, or other related fields who are interested in doing research into epigenomics in gastric cancer. The successful candidate will help to analyze next-generation sequencing data, design experiments, write papers, write grants, and compete for fellowships.
Candidates are required to have a strong quantitative and statistics background, as well as strong programming skills (e.g. Python, Perl, C, C++, Java, R, or other related programming knowledge), the ability to work in a Linux environment, a proven track record in the form of publications in top English language journals, and the ability to communicate in written and spoken English. Any experience in GUI development and biology, particularly computational genomics (e.g. next-generation sequencing analysis), will be valued.
Applications should include full curriculum vitae, publication list, information on years of experience in research and laboratory work, and names and contact information (e-mail and telephone numbers) of 3 references. Please also include a summary of your research experience and a brief paragraph on why you want to join the Fullwood lab.
Interested candidates should indicate the post applied and send their full CV and bibliography, summary of past accomplishments, and the names and email addresses of three referees, as well as a brief paragraph on why you want to join the Fullwood lab.
