This position is funded by a grant of the “Région Bretagne” and is open to non French scientists or French scientists who spent at least 12 months abroad in the last three years.
The position involves the development of statistical methods to analyze sequence data and methodological and applied research in statistical and population genetics.
The applicant may start as soon as possible but no later than May 2013.
The applicant should have a PhD in statistical genetics, biostatistics or population genetics and good programming skills in R or C.

The candidate will be working with Dr Emmanuelle Génin within the team of functional genetics of the Inserm Unit 1078 headed by Claude Férec. This is a very fruitful multidisciplinary research environnement ideal for conducting post-doctoral research in the field of statistical genetics and developping new methods and applying them on data generated in the lab. Collaborations with clinicians are facilitated by the location of the team within the Hospital of Brest
