Position Title: Assistant Director of Genomic and Molecular Pathology Division

The University of Chicago's Department of Pathology is recruiting an Assistant Director for its newly established Division of Genomic and Molecular Pathology, with primary responsibility for the development of new testing of solid tumors. Primary certification by the American Board of Pathology (AP only or AP/CP) and additional training in molecular pathology are required, with board certification in Molecular Genetic Pathology preferred. The ability to obtain an Illinois medical license by the start of employment is also required.

Knowledge and experience with FISH, arrays, and next-generation sequencing are desirable. The ideal candidate would also have expertise in some field of anatomic pathology, preferably in breast, lung or soft tissue tumors. A strong interest in teaching at the fellow, resident, and medical student levels is essential. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and scholarly achievement.

The Medical Center at the University of Chicago has busy solid tumor, leukemia and lymphoma programs for both adult and pediatric patients, and a busy transplantation program. It has a long history of academic advancement in these areas.
