We are looking for a Colony Manager. This person is responsible for the generation (production or colony management) and dispersal of genetically modified mouse cohorts for research studies in a high-throughput setting.
The Duties and Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for the generation and timely delivery of mouse cohorts for research studies.
- Create and maintain breeding/production and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate transfer of mice with end-users.
- Manage cage allocations and vivarium space
- Responsible for entering and collecting information using appropriate databases to make decisions on
cohort generation and delivery.
- Communicate with research staff and related personnel.
This position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in biology or related field. In addition, 4-5 years of experience with breeding of genetically modified mice and knowledge of the complete mouse breeding process is also required. An AALAS certification at the ALAT level is required, LATG level is preferred. Experience with databases for the management of mice colonies, as well as Managerial and leadership skills are a must. Excellent communication skills are also needed.
