The Department of Biostatistics within the School of Medicine at The University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) is seeking applications for a post-doctoral research scientist position. We are in the process of building a statistical genomics and bioinformatics research group and are seeking a postdoctoral candidate with a Ph.D. in statistics, bioinformatics or biostatistics with interest in human genomics research. Solid statistical training, strong computer programming skill, excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
•Develop and test novel analysis. methods for genomic data on both real and simulated data.
•Consult on genomic studies including the completion of bioinformatics and/or statistical analysis.
•Manuscript and grant writing.
•Presenting results at national and international conferences.
•Possibly teach an introductory statistics course
•Ph.D. in statistics, bioinformatics or biostatistics, biology, biophysics, physics or related quantitative field, with interest in human genomics research.
•Statistical Programs: R
•OS: Windows, Linux/UNIX
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Human Genomics, Next-Gen Sequencing and high performance computing for high-dimenisional ’omic data experience.
