Due to the growth and expansion of our laboratory in the Research Triangle Area of North Carolina, we are looking to hire Specimen Processing Technicians. This position will process manual accessioning requests into the Laboratory Information Management System, aliquot, sort, and prepare samples for pick up.

• Accurately enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System. Prepare and organize written data, reports, and other documents
• Responsible for the presorting, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory, centrifugation and aliquoting
• Prepare samples using automated or fixed volume measuring devices with licensed personnel supervision
• Assist with multiple routine and specialty assays
• Monitor and maintain consumable inventory
• Unpack, record and store reagents and supplies
• Adhere to quality control guidelines to ensure integrity of laboratory specimens and accurate data entry


• High School diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with accessioning, data entry, and specimen collection
• Ability to type at a minimum of 4000 key strokes per hour is required
• Must be able to read and understand scientific and complex directions
• Ability to follow lab safety practices when working in the freezer or with hazardous materials
• Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment and maintain production and quality standards determined by the clinical laboratory
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to work the following shift: Tuesday-Saturday 8:30 am-5:00 pm
