We are looking for a Research Associate for a position dedicated to the Molecular group in VelociGene. This position supports the generation of genetically engineered mouse models for novel therapeutic development.

The individual should be experienced in the general operations of a laboratory and proficient in Molecular Biology methods including DNA cloning and analysis with demonstrated ability to master new technologies to achieve results rapidly.

Primary responsibilities include the following:
- Construction of large gene targeting vectors using State- of- the- art VelociGene methodologies.
- Maintains quality control and quality assurance.
- DNA analysis (using a variety of computer tools and softwares).
- Assist in technology development and KO model improvement.
- Aids in several aspects of the projects, specifically making targeting vector constructs
- Responsible for some of the steps in VelociGene Bacterial Homologous Recombination method.
- Work with bacterial cultures and BAC DNA preps
- Keeps records up to date and shows good organization of their daily tasks

This position requires a Bachelor or Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent, as well as 2 or more years related experience and/or training.

Experience should include:
- Basic Molecular Biology Work
- Making targeting vector constructs
- Maintaining quality control of DNA constructs
- Basic knowledge of DNA analysis software
- Work with bacterial cultures and BAC DNA preps
- technology development, KO constructs improvement
