The Institute for Systems Biology (ISB) is an internationally renowned non-profit research institute dedicated to the study and application of systems biology. Founded in 2000 in Seattle, Washington, ISB's goal is to unravel the mysteries of cellular networks and identify strategies that will usher in a new era of P4 Medicine (predictive, preventive, participatory and personalized medicine).
The Baliga lab is seeking a qualified Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Scientist for an interdisciplinary research position in genomics and bioinformatics. The position will be part of a research group that is using a systems approach to characterize biological complexity. This position will work on a research project directed by Dr. Nitin Baliga to evaluate models of biological systems. The systems can be single cells to communities of multiple organisms that accurately predict adaptation to environmental changes. A key aspect will include combining information from multiple levels such as genes, proteins, whole cells, and natural forces to gain a clear understanding of the specific inputs and processes that lead to specific system behaviors.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with significant experience in computational analysis, modeling, and biology. Experience with algae species is a plus. Candidates must have a completed Ph.D. degree at the time of hiring. Candidates must also have excellent interpersonal skills conducive to team work and group research efforts.
ISB is an M/F/D/V/EOE.
