About Us:

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, home of three Nobel laureates, is an independent, nonprofit research institution dedicated to the development and advancement of biomedical research to eliminate cancer and other potentially fatal diseases. Recognized internationally for its pioneering work in bone-marrow transplantation, the Center’s five scientific divisions collaborate to form a unique environment for conducting basic and applied science. Join us and make a difference!

About the Lab:

Our research group is interested in the lung tumor microenvironment, with an emphasis on the role of innate immunity, and in particular the neutrophil. We utilize mouse models of lung cancer to determine the means by which entities of the innate immune system actually contribute to tumor growth and invasiveness. We are recruiting a post-doctoral fellow to take on an independent project within this focus area.

Requirements:

A PhD degree in the field of molecular biology, pathology, genetics, or equivalent. The applicant should be experienced in the areas of general molecular biology: RNA, DNA, protein, cell, and in vivo models. A background in immunology and experience with flow cytometry is essential.

Candidates should be highly motivated and capable of functioning independently. However, the applicant will ultimately work as part of a team, and should enjoy working in a collaborative environment.
