Job Description: 

An opportunity exists for a highly motivated, skilled and collegiate individual to join Peter Mac’s Research Division as the Molecular Genomics Core Facility Manager.

Managing the next-generation sequencing and associated platform technologies, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the facility (including line-management responsibility for staff members), whilst providing technical support and training for users of the facility. A proportion of your time will also be devoted to the development of new and innovative research methodologies pertinent to cancer genomics and genetics. In addition you will play a key strategic role in developing a significantly expanded facility within the Victorian Comprehesive Cancer Centre.

You will have extensive experience in genomic technologies such as next generation sequencing and general molecular biology techniques. Previous experience in the preparation and management of a research budget will be highly regarded. You will also have strong interpersonal skills and an ability to liaise collegiately with a range of stakeholders.
