Research Associate 2-B/H (Job Opening 370078) - Participates in planning, designing and managing research projects involving whole genome, whole exome, and transcriptome sequencing in cancer (any and all kinds of cancer); participates in development and implementation of new and/or revised methodologies and techniques; trains on and utilizes Illumina's MiSeq instrument; performs advanced and complex molecular and cellular techniques; extracts, analyzes, evaluates and summarizes research data/results; participates in the development of research goals; collaborates with principal investigator to write and submit manuscripts, articles, abstracts and research reports for publication in peer reviewed journals; attends and presents at national and international scientific conferences, workshops and seminars; investigates and recommends possible sources of research funding; assists with preparation and submission of grant proposals to obtain funding in support of research; assists with the development of grant budgets; oversees and monitor expenses; conducts critical analysis of research literature related to research being investigated, trains and supervises laboratory technicians.
Masters Degree in an appropriate biological/health science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required; Doctoral Degree preferred; considerable experience in a biological/health research capacity is required. Requires successful completion of a background check.
