Job Description: 

Postdoctoral Researcher pursues specialized research training by conducting independent research under the guidance of Dr. Roychowdhury to 1) characterize the molecular mechanisms of primary and secondary resistance to targeted therapies (PI3Kinase, RAF, FGFR, CDK inhibitors), 2) study the role of tumor heterogeneity in resistance and molecularly enriched trials, and 3) characterize genomic aberrations discovered through the sequencing study; projects involve general cancer biology and genetics, drug response and resistance testing, and assessing novel targets and resistance mechanisms; develops, adopts and implements new lab methods; provides expertise/assistance in the use of these techniques to co-workers; assists with analysis of data for reports/publications; assists with grant writing and preparation; performs molecular genetic techniques to identify and characterize novel genes; analyzes gene copy changes, mRNA, protein expression, gene cloning, and mutation detection; asses drug response and resistance.


Doctoral Degree in appropriate field required; proficient in molecular biology (cloning, sequencing), and cell biology desired; preference given to those familiar with bioinformatics.
