Job Description: 

As a Research Associate in the Chemistry Development Department you will support the development of platforms based on our proprietary Sequencing (SBS) technology. You will be part of multidisciplinary teams solving complex problems, working on integration issues and investigating new research areas.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Collaborate with all functions within project teams (such as chemistry, biochemistry, assay development, software, engineering and manufacturing)
• Engage in the early design of products
• Prepare and coat flowcells and reagents for testing
• Analyze data and troubleshoot issues
• Able to suggest creative solutions to chemistry problems
• Requirement to be hands-on
• Perform routine chemical and biochemical testing
• Use standard laboratory instrumentation: i.e. UV-VIS, HPLC, fluorescence plate readers, liquid handling robotics
• Produce and test complex reagents
• Supporting the testing and screening of new materials
• System level testing, assay testing, and image analysis
• Analysis of large complex data sets
• Keeping a laboratory notebook
• Present updates, write reports, and participate in technical meetings

Polymer chemistry experience (formulation, characterization, etc)
Glass and plastic chemistry knowledge a plus
Product development experience, transfer to production, and documentation a plus.
