Jackson Lab Finds Text-Mining Software Can Speed Some Database Curation Tasks

The Jackson Lab researchers said that they are seeing about a 50 percent increase in the productivity of curators who use text-mining tools for gene indexing. Other, more extensive, curation tasks, however, such as extracting functional information, "have not yet been impacted by text-mining tools."
