NIMBioS HPC for Phylogenetics Workshop

By Matthew Dublin

The National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis (NIMBioS) will host a workshop on high-performance computing for phylogenetics from October 12 to 15 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The tutorial will teach attendees how to use TeraGrid, the CIPRES Portal, the iPlant Discovery environment, as well as university clusters and other high-performance computing resources to accelerate phylogenetic research. The workshop is aimed at biologists with some amount of experience doing phylogenetic analysis but who are usually running data sets on a desktop computer. Attendees will also have the option of receiving basic Unix instruction via webinar and self-paced online resources before the actual workshop.

The application deadline is August 27th. Click here to apply.
