According to a new publication at Reportlinker, the global molecular diagnostics market is estimated to grow at an annual rate around 10 percent through 2015. The global molecular diagnostics market — estimated to have reached a value of around $5.4 billion in 2011 "represents one of the fastest growing segments of global IVD industry," Reportlinker says in a statement, adding that infectious disease testing accounts for the leading share in that space. Further, Reportlinker estimates a compound annual growth rate of around 11 percent for the infectious disease share of the global molecular diagnostics market. "Companies, such as Roche Molecular Diagnostics, BioMerieux, Becton and Dickinson, Abbott Molecular, and Gen-Probe are the leading market players with high-selling platforms and screening tests used for key infectious diseases," it says.
