Connecticut Pathologist Debuts Lyme Disease Test Based on Nested PCR, DNA Sequencing

The test uses nested PCR to detect genomic DNA of B. burgdorferi in the blood, and uses Sanger-based DNA sequencing and diagnostic signature sequences found in GenBank to validate the result.
