― George Church, a professor of genetics at Harvard Medical School and a DNA sequencing pioneer, on the court decision handed down March 29 that invalidated seven patents protecting Myriad Genetics' BRCA1 and BRCA2 breast and ovarian cancer predisposition tests.

Church, speaking this morning at Washington G-2 Reports' fifth annual Molecular Diagnostics conference, held here this week, said the judge's decision will not prevent Myriad from suing labs that use the balance of the company's BRCA1/2 patent estate.
